Glenn Calvin Ballou

Glenn Calvin Ballou, age 81 years of W. Harrison, IN passed away Friday, November 24, 2006 in Cincinnati, OH. Born April 10, 1925 in Parkers Lake, KY he was the son of the late Walter & Ava (Strunk) Ballou. He married Christine Pearl Neal on September 13, 1947 in Covington, KY. Mr. Ballou is survived by his children Robert (Sharon) Ballou of Rising Sun, IN; Carol (late Jimmy) Bledsoe of Harrison, OH; Geri Greco of W. Harrison, IN; Patricia (James) Clanton of W. Harrison, IN, Glenda Faye (Tom) Huegel of Delhi, OH & Debra (Danny) Reeves of Bright, IN; grandchildren Darla Newlander, Brian Johnson, Angela Bledsoe, Kimberly Sturgill, James Bledsoe, Glenn Allen Rader, Stephen Rader, Scott Mooney, James Andrew Clanton, Joe Tucker, Christina Tucker, Lalayna Tucker, Thomas Huegel, Sarah Huegel, Rachel Schnell, Scott Reeves, Shawn Reeves, Ryan Reeves & Brandon Reeves; 25 great grandchildren; siblings Lois Morris of Whitley City, KY; Lloyd Ballou of Cincinnati, OH; Benny Ballou of Miamitown, OH & Sue Bryant of Chattanooga, TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Christine Pearl Ballou & 1 great granddaughter. Mr. Ballou retired in 1986 as a Chemical Operator for National Lead of Ohio. He was a WWII Navy veteran, a member of United Methodist Church in Aberdeen, IN & Harrison VFW, an avid hunter and he loved to farm & loved the outdoors. He was also a loving caregiver & companion for many people in need. He was a great fan of the Kentucky "Wildcats" Basketball, Cincinnati Reds and in younger years enjoyed going to wrestling matches with family at Cincinnati Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 29, 2006 from 4-8 PM at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home in Harrison, OH. Services will be Thursday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Frank Hedger & Rev. Robert Brigmon officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery in Bright, IN with military rites by Harrison Funeral Detail. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Assoc.
