Frederick Edward Wespesser, Sr., a dedicated public servant and beloved family man, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on June 13, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Anthony Joseph and Wilamina (Giesen) Wespesser, Fred lived a life marked by commitment to his community, country, and family.

Fred proudly served in the United States Coast Guard, demonstrating his dedication to his nation early on. Following his military service, he embarked on a career as a Police Officer in North Bend, Ohio, where he was known for his steadfast integrity and devotion to protecting his community.

Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership.

Fred was an active member of the American Legion Post #199 Harrison, Ohio where he shared a bond with fellow veterans and continued his dedication to service beyond his professional career.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Wespesser; his parents, Anthony Joseph and Wilamina (nee Giesen) Wespesser; his brother, Anthony C. Wespesser; and his sisters, Rosemary Kuebler, Jeanette Jesse, and Mary Ann Hendiel.

Fred is lovingly remembered by his surviving family: his devoted wife, Judy Wespesser (nee Mercer); his son, Frederick Wespesser, Jr.; and his daughter, Angela Garland. Frederick’s legacy lives on through his five grandchildren, Cameron Garland, Connor Garland, Caden Garland, Amanda (Anthony) Weber, and Faith Wespesser, as well as his five great-grandchildren, Jaden, Lincoln, Sophia, Grayson, and Penelope.
