Fred "Fritz" Callaway, age 89 of Bright, IN passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at his son's home in Hidden Valley, IN. Born January 31, 1923 in Cleves, OH, Fritz was the son of the late Clarence & Cora (McClanahan) Callaway. He married Clara Mae Swales on June 14, 1941 in Bright, IN and worked for 33 years as a Security Guard at National Lead. The WWII Army Veteran of the 63rd Infantry Company was a life member & past Commander of the Harrison American Legion Post 199 and member of the Greendale Church of Christ. Fritz is survived by his wife Clara Mae Callaway, sons Fred Callaway of New Haven, OH, Chuck (Rhonda) Callaway of Hidden Valley, IN, Eddie Callaway of Lawrenceburg, IN, Darrell (Kathy) Callaway of Wyandotte, MI & Allen "Mooch" (Ethel) Callaway of Lawrenceburg, IN. He will also be missed by his 13 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren & 10 great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Tommy Callaway, sister Nellie Burns & brother Arthur Callaway. Services are private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery with Military Honors. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Callaway Memorial Golf Outing c/o Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH.
