Floyd Leslie Deweese

Floyd Leslie DeWeese of Harrison, died Saturday May 29, 2010 at Shawneesprings in Harrison. Born June 30, 1923 in Colunbus, Ohio he was the son of the late Floyd and Elnora (Berry) DeWeese. Mr. DeWeese enrolled in the Cilvilian Conservation Corps in July 1940 and was discharged from that to join the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. He married Cile (Holleran) DeWeese and she died April 1992. He remarried Betty (Marksberry) Jessup-Vic Roy-DeWeese and she survives along with 3 step children, Janice Jessup, Matthew Jessup and Brian (Carol) Jessup; brothers Robert and William DeWeese of Columbus, OH; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, and son Robert DeWeese killed in Vietnam. Floyd was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Visitation is Thursday June 3, 2010 at 9 am followed by funeral services at 10.30 am all at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home in Harrison. Burial will be at 3 pm in the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery in Thornville, OH with military graveside rites. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Cincinnati.
