Evelyne Marie Shaver

Evelyne Marie Shaver, age 91 of Oxford, OH passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 at her residence at The Knolls of Oxford. Born September 2, 1920 in Cincinnati, OH she was the daughter of the late Noah & Georgina (Hearne) Mathias. She graduated from Western Hills High School and received her bachelor's & master's degree from Miami University. She was married to Hortis Shaver and he preceded her in death. She taught in the Harrison Area schools for 34 years. Evelyne was a member of the Crosby United Methodist Church, DAR & was also big in genealogy. Evelyne is survived by her children Nancy (Robert) Woods of Harrison, OH, Cindy (Howard) Kuhr of Harrison, OH, Tim (JoAnne) Shaver of College Corner, OH & Tom (Mary Ann) Shaver of Hamilton, OH. She will also be missed by her 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, brother Noah (Ruth) Mathias Jr. of Cincinnati, OH and numerous nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents & husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings Edith (Jim) Williams, Martha (Paul) Ullom & Edward Mathias. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from 11am until time of service at 12 noon all at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Rev. Dr. Harold Shackelford officiating. Burial will be in Miamitown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Research which you can bring to the visitation/funeral or mail to Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home.
