Evelyn Jean Heinzelman

Evelyn Jean Heinzelman, age 80, of New Trenton, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in Connersville, Indiana. She was born on July 12, 1944, the daughter of Fred and Evelyn (Reed) Gilbert in Hamilton, Ohio.

A high school graduate, Evelyn went on to marry the late Gary W. Heinzelman on June 19, 1965, in Harrison, Ohio.  She was a restaurant manager, hauled water for many years for Sperry Rubber Company, and was an EMT.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Bobbi Heinzelman and David (Michelle) Heinzelman, eight grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Her grandson, Daniel Lake, was Evelyn’s caregiver during the last years of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary W. Heinzelman, her parents, Fred and Evelyn Gilbert, and her siblings, Fred Gilbert, Jr., Donald Gilbert, and Yothona Blanton.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m., with Sissy Patterson officiating, all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. A burial will follow at Glen Haven Cemetery in Harrison, Ohio.
