Evelyn Gilbert

Evelyn Gilbert, age 80 years of Sunman, IN passed away Thursday, September 23, 2010 at her home. Born July 3, 1930 in Cincinnati, OH, she was the daughter of the late Albert & Goldie (Brown) Fortunato. She was a graduate of Western Hills High School and married to Edward Phillip Gilbert on Oct. 20, 1951 in Bridgetown, OH. Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her husband Edward Phillip Gilbert, children Debbie (Dan) Rolfes of Bright, IN; Gregory (Tabatha) Gilbert of Gilbert, AZ, Cindy (Bruce) Herget of Bright, IN & Patty (James) Garrison of Miamitown, OH. She will also be missed by her 10 grandchildren Matthew, Austin, Samantha, Alex, John, Nikki, Cody, Joey, Justin & Jennifer, 6 great grandchildren and sisters Janet Claypoole of Western Hills, OH & Carol Easton of Mount Washington, OH. In addition to her parents Albert & Goldie Fortunato, she was preceded in death by her sister Shirley Lipps. Visitation will be Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 2pm until time of service at 3pm all at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Rev. Dr. Harold Shackelford officiating. Memorials are suggested to Margaret Mary Community Hospital or Sunman Life Squad c/o the funeral home.
