Esther Ruth Taylor

Esther Ruth Taylor, age 72 of West Harrison, Indiana passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Hospice of Cincinnati, Twin Towers. She was born on May 23, 1943 the daughter of the late James A. and Avanelle (Hart) Schoonover. She married Richard Miller who died December 13, 1996 and later married James W. Taylor, he died March 20, 2012. Esther was a member of the Harrison Church of the Nazarene. She loved her church very much and was very active in it. Esther was a caregiver for many relatives and friends and most of her siblings. She also worked at a few nursing homes as a caregiver. Before her first husband, Richard, became sick she was a Hamilton County Sheriff Deputy, which her family said she was very proud of. Esther graduated from Whitewater High School, near Mt. Carmel, IN. She was a very good-hearted person who would go above and beyond for someone else. Esther is survived by her sisters June Allen of Milan, IN and Mildred (Clint) Meshew of Radcliff, KY; a sister-in-law Mary Schoonover and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews plus one great-great-great nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Bischoff and brothers James Francis, Lewis, Albert, Paul and Arnold Schoonover. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 4-7pm followed by services at 7:00pm, all at the Harrison Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Bryan Harrison officiating. Graveside services will be at St. Joseph New Cemetery, 4500 Foley Rd. at10:00am on Wednesday. Esther has asked not to send flowers but to give donations to her church instead. This can be done at the time of the funeral services or by sending a check to Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home who is serving the family.
