Eleanora Roell

Eleanora Roell, age 91 years of Harrison, OH passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Shawneesprings Health Care Center in Harrison.

Born April 8, 1918 in Cincinnati, OH she was the daughter of the late Fred & Lydia (Boller) Hoerst. She married Eugene Leo Roell on June 13, 1942 in Cheviot, OH. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Harrison and the Ladies Sodality.

She loved to cook. Her specialty was Ice Box Cake that she baked for everyone's birthday. She also liked to bake pies, make carmel popcorn and for Sunday after church, fried chicken. She sold eggs and loved to can vegetables. Her family said she kept records of everything. Although the farm never allowed them to go on vacations, her sisters would come over on Sundays for family get togethers in which she looked forward to very much.

Mrs. Roell is survived by her children Mary Jane (Russell) Fox of Bright, IN; John (Susan) Roell of Lynn, IN; Judy Ann (Eric) Smith of Lawrenceburg, IN; Ann Marie (Joseph) Schulte of Shandon, OH & Rosemary (John) Zinser of Dover, IN. She will also be missed by her siblings Mary Siegert of Harrison, OH; Betty Jane Jaspers of Bridgetown, OH & Helen Specht of Harrison, OH; 16 Grandchildren & 21 Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by herdaughter, Eugenia (Arthur) Blankman of Batesville, IN & brother William Hoerst.

Visitation will be Monday, April 5, 2010 from 5-8pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 10:30am at St. John the Baptist Church in Harrison, OH. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Cincinnati or St. John the Baptist Church.
