Edwin Paul Chapdelaine, Sr.

Edwin Paul Chapdelaine, Sr., age 84, of Guilford, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, in Guilford, Indiana. He was born on May 7, 1940, the son of Andre P. and Evelyn (Marcustre) Chapdelaine in Worcester, Massachusetts.

A graduate of Shrewsbury High School, Edwin served his country with the United States Navy during the Vietnam era between 1959 and 1962 as a jet engine mechanic and instructor. He married Betsie J. Teikari on July 27, 1963, in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and became a machinist and craft leader with Andrew Jergens Company retiring in December of 1999.  He also served as a member of the Bright Christian Church since 1989.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Betsie J. Chapdelaine, children, Christopher Chapdelaine, Eddy (Heather) Chapdelaine, Jr., and Wendy (Joe) Kopec, his grandchildren, Kelly (Luis) Tosado, Julia Kopec, Amy Kopec, Ethan Chapdelaine, and Hayden Chapdelaine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andre P. and Evelyn Chapdelaine, and sisters, Winona Farnsworth and Barbara Ann Rogers.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until time of a celebration of Edwin’s life being held at 1:00 p.m., with Brother Greg Edens officiating, all held at Bright Christian Church, 24457 State Line Road, Lawrenceburg, Indiana 47025. Military honors by the United States Navy and the Harrison Honor Guard will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made “In Memory of Edwin Chapdelaine, Sr.” to Bright Christian Church, 24457 State Line Road, Lawrenceburg, Indiana 47025.
