Dorothy Alice White, a cherished member of the community and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2026, in West Harrison, Indiana. Born on December 10, 1933, in Dearborn County, Indiana, Dorothy's life was marked by devotion to her family, community, and faith.
A graduate of I.C.A. (Oldenburg Academy), Dorothy carried forth the values and education she attained with grace and diligence throughout her life. On February 12, 1955, she married David White at St. John the Baptist Church in Harrison, Ohio—a union that stood as one of her proudest accomplishments. Together, their partnership was a beacon of love and commitment until David's passing.
Dorothy is survived by her devoted daughters Karen (Daniel) Bertelson and Diana (Tim) Welch, and her son Brian (Lisa) White. Her legacy continues vibrantly through her 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by her wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry John Kremer and Hallie C. (Kolb) Kremer; husband David White; daughter Denise White; and siblings Charles, Ted, Mary Ann, Fran, Elsie, Kathleen, Ceile, and Martha. Their memories are cherished deeply by those who knew and loved Dorothy.
The community will gather to honor Dorothy’s life with a visitation on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, located at 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. A Mass celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, 10010 Carolina Trace Road, Harrison, Ohio 45030. Burial will take place at St. Joseph New Cemetery located in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Dorothy Alice White’s enduring spirit and loving heart have left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her. She will be remembered with respect and profound affection for the life she led and the family she so dearly loved.
