Dorothy Jean Vest

Dorothy Jean Vest, age 93 of Indianapolis, IN formerly of Harrison, OH passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Westminster Village North.  Born July 4, 1923 in Tulsa, OK she was the daughter of Edward & Pearl (Massey) Stewart.

Jean attended Lindenwood College before graduating from Oklahoma University in 1945 where she received her elementary teaching degree.  She retired from Southwest Local School District in Ohio.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Harrison, OH and a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.

On November 20, 1948 she married Jack Vest in Tulsa, OK and he preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings Edward, Grace & Helen.  Jean is survived by her daughters Gail McNierney (John) of New Palestine, IN and Marianne Vest of Chagrin Falls, OH and her son Richard Vest (Terry) of Stewart, OH.  She will also be missed by her 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, September 2, 2016 from 10:00am followed by services at 11:30am all at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joshua Long officiating.  Burial will immediately follow services at Glen Haven Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church Building Fund c/o Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, P.O.
