Dorothy M. Fields

Dorothy M. Fields, age 78, of Bridgeville, Delaware, passed away on November 18, 2015, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford.   Dorothy was born in Bridgeville, a daughter of the late Harrington B. and Katherine M. Messick.

Dorothy retired from Sussex Company in Milford, Delaware, as a supervisor with 28 years of service. She loved to garden, read, bird watch, and listen to all types of music.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Fields in 1968, her son Michael J. Fields, and her nephew Douglas B. Fields. Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Debra A. Russell and husband Carlos of Bridgeville and Susan M. Baker and husband Richard of Georgetown; seven grandchildren, Jameson B. Russell and wife Lorrie, Jeremy R. Russell, Shaun H. Russell, Shannon M. Russell, Jennifer M. Baker, Angela S. Baker, and Holly L. Baker; two great-grandchildren, Katrina A. Russell and Logan R. Russell; and one sister, Roberta M. Fields and husband Oscar of Bridgeville. She is also survived by a stepson, Philip H. Fields and family, five sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law, all of the Midwest, along with many nieces, nephews and other family members.


Visitation will be 11:00am on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home in Harrison, OH, followed by a graveside service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Glen Haven Cemetery in Harrison, Ohio. She will be loved forever and dearly missed.
