Dorothy Jean Dunaway

Dorothy Jean Dunaway, age 88 of Batesville, IN formerly of Harrison, OH passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012 at her home. Born April 23, 1924 in Elizabethtown, OH she was the daughter of Thomas & Alma (Herald) Hayes. She graduated from Whitewater High School in Miamitown, OH in 1942 & retired from Providence Hospital as a LPN. She also worked at the Elizabethtown Elementary as a cook for 10 years. She married Cleveland Dunaway Jr. and was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in Bright, IN. Dorothy is survived by her sons Richard (Karen) Dunaway of Batesville, IN & Daniel (Jackie) Dunaway of Middlesboro, KY. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Deanna (Steve) Illing, Christie (Jeff) Burke & Amy (Bill) Garren and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband of 64 years, she was preceded in death by her grandchildren Douglas Dunaway & Lynnette Warner and siblings Fred Hayes, Pat Hayes, Fay Schlie, Ada Bath & Della Collins. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 1pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Bro. Charlie Davis officiating. Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of Margaret Mary Community Hospital which can be brought to the memorial service or mailed to the funeral home.
