Dorothy J. Damon

Dorothy J. Damon, age 86, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, in Edgewood, Kentucky. She was born the daughter of Cris and Syntha (Adams) Shepherd on February 16, 1938, in Letcher County, Kentucky.

A 1956 Bright High School graduate, Dorothy worked for 32 years at US Shoe in Harrison, Ohio, and went on to clean houses.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Joe) Nowlin, stepchildren Michael Damon, Tami Bowling and Joyce Curtis. Grandmother of Chris (Cindy) Nowlin, Joe (India) Nowlin, Jr., Aaron Nowlin, and Ashley (Brian) Nowlin, great-grandmother of Emmarie, Parker, Sydney, Makiah, and Layla.  Sister of Lori Schrichten, and Lavern Webster.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Cris and Syntha Shepherd, husband Larry Damon, brothers Orell Shepherd and Elbert Shepherd, and sister, Eula Turner.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 12:00 p.m., all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. A burial will follow at Gibson Cemetery in Bright, Indiana.
