Dale M. Rolfes

Dale Michael Rolfes, age 66, of Bright, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Born the son of Albert W. and Aurelia (McGowen) Rolfes on Thursday, October 18, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, a 1976 graduate of Oak Hills High School, he married Marianne Theobald on Saturday, May 12, 1979 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Dale later retired as a talented carpenter who was well-known in the area and was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.  He loved to play music and enjoyed playing the banjo, guitar, mandolin, and harmonica.  Dale also loved the game of football, and legend has it that he hit someone so hard that he cracked his own football helmet in high school.

Dale is survived by his loving wife, Marianne Rolfes and his three children, Amanda (Brian) Gavin, Luke (Sammy) Rolfes, and Allison (Mike Francis) Rolfes.  He was a proud grandfather to Hank, Claire, Audrey, and Sofia.  Dale is also survived by his brothers Bruce (Mary Ann) Rolfes and Doug (Jessi) Rolfes, and his sisters Anita (Sam) Boulmetis, Bev (Butch) Willis, and Vicki (Scott) Shaffer.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Aurelia Rolfes and his brothers Bill Rolfes and Albert Rolfes.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 10:00 A.M., with Father Paul Ruwe officiating, at St. John’s Catholic Church located at 10010 Carolina Trace Road, Harrison, Ohio 45030. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Harrison, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. John Catholic Church in memory of Dale Michael Rolfes in care of Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030.
