Clarence Bowling, age 84 passed away peacefully on June 25, 2016. Born March 24, 1932 in Owsley County, Kentucky he was the son of Bertha and Wm. Gobel Bowling.
Clarence was a veteran of the Korean War. As a young man, he proudly served in the United States Army. Upon returning from war, he met and married the love of his life, Amy (Sebastian) Bowling. Clarence worked at Reliable Castings and B&B Trailer where he was a foreman. In his spare time he enjoyed construction and woodworking, where he was a fantastic craftsman. He made many furniture pieces for his family and grandchildren. He was a social man, who never met a stranger. Clarence enjoyed telling stories about his life and talking about his time in the service. He was loved by all that met him.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 60 years, Amy; his children, Debbie Schlemmer (Albert), Randy Bowling; and his grandchildren, Kristen Wilson (Kevin), Teri Werling (Tim), Kyle Schlemmer, Christopher Bowling, Nicholas Bowling, Brady Bowling and Jesse Bowling; along with his sister Gladys Herald. He will also be missed by his great grandchildren, Logan Wilson, Olivia and Avery Werling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Timothy Bowling, his sisters Nora Lee Herald, Edna Peters and Tamara Correll and his brothers Carlos Bowling, Wm. Ewin Bowling and Charlie Bowling.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 5 to 7pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home in Harrison. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Harrison Funeral Detail.
Memorials are suggested to Cincinnati V.A. or the North Dearborn Food Pantry.
