Clara Wilma Blasdel

Clara Wilma Blasdel, age 80 of Bright, IN passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, IN. Born January 13, 1931 in Bright, IN she was the daughter of George & Clara (Jackson) Fondong. She married John Blasdel on June 18, 1949 in Bright. Mrs. Blasdel was a teacher's aid for Sunman Dearborn Schools and taught preschool at the Methodist Church "Bright Days". She was a member of Bright Providence Presbyterian Church, #427 Lawrenceburg local Eastern Star Chapter and 50 year member of the Dearborn County RSVP. Mrs. Blasdel is survived by her husband John Blasdel, children John E. (late Anne) Blasdel Jr. of Bright, IN, Jeff E. (Michelle) Blasdel of Columbus, IN, Joel "Jody" (Karen) Blasdel of Bright, IN and Joan E. (Brian) Erhart of St. Leon, IN. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Trisha (Brian) Spears of Ft. Wayne, IN, Sarah (Jason) Reed of Davis Junction, IL, Carey (Clay) Arnett of Muncie, IN, Jacob (Audra) Blasdel of Indianapolis, IN, Janelle Blasdel of Minneapolis, MN, Jason Blasdel of Columbus, IN, Lainey (Joshua) Schaefer of Dillsboro, IN, Jenna Blasdel of Bright, IN, Jared Blasdel of Princeton, IL, Cassandra Erhart of Greenwood, IN, Curtis Erhart of St. Leon, IN and Chelsey Erhart of St. Leon, IN, Great grandchildren Hayden & Hayley Arnett, Joseph & Abigail Spears, Micah, Zaiah & Jonah Reed and Kaylynn Schaefer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson Nathaniel Spears and sisters Mary Lou Lovelace, Eileen Farrell and Reda Bunnell. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 5-8pm and Eastern Star Services at 8pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH. Services will be Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 1pm at Bright Providence Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Pace officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery, Bright, IN. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, Bright Fire & EMS, Bright Providence Presbyterian Church or Eastern Star c/o the funeral home.
