Charles Devore Sr.

Charles Devore, Sr., age 79 years of W. Harrison, IN passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008 in Cincinnati, OH. Born November 25, 1929 in New Castle, KY he was the son of the late Matthew & Elizabeth (Tharp) Devore. He married Dora "Sally" Glass on February 28, 1953 in Carrolton, KY. She preceded him in death. He then married Betty Hall. He worked as a heavy equipment operator/engineer for O'Rourke Wrecking Co. and was a member of the Ohio Operators & Engineers Union. Mr. Devore is survived by his wife Betty Devore; children Charles (Debbie) Devore Jr., Larry (Cathy) Teters, Rita (Henry) Howard, Carolyn Devore & Kevin (Trisha) Devore; 35 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren & sisters Ursel (Gene) Renfro, Juanita McClellan & Theresa Devore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Dora "Sally" M. Devore, children Glenn Teters, Wilma Jester & Charlotte Harris and brother David Devore. Visitation will be Monday, December 22, 2008 from 12 2pm followed by services at 2pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home in Harrison, OH with Shawn Crissman officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
