Cathy L. Loechel

Cathy Barnes Loechel, a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on August 16, 1956, Cathy’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family.

Cathy was a devoted mother to four children: Jason Loechel (Amy Loechel), Brittany Geiman, and her cherished daughters, Jessica and Jamie Loechel, who have preceded her in death. A loving sister to Charlene Maloney, Paul Michael Mangione, and her late brother, Robbie Barnes.

As a grandmother, Cathy found immense joy in her grandchildren: Devlun Loechel, Ashley Powell, Riley Grace Geiman, and Maverick Jay Geiman, who also left this world too soon. Each moment spent with them was a treasure, and she delighted in watching them grow and flourish. Her love was a guiding light, and her strength in the face of adversity was an inspiration to many.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12:00 P.M., with Brian Dunaway officiating, all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030.  A burial will follow at Elizabethtown Cemetery.

A celebration of Cathy’s life will be held after the burial on February 15th, 2025, at 9194 New Haven Road, Harrison, Ohio 45030.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to dedicate a little library to her memory as she had an immense love for reading and to honor her late grandson, Maverick!
