Carol Jan (Mounts) Jobe

July 12, 1939 — December 3, 2022

Carol Jan (Mounts) Jobe, July 12, 1939-December 3, 2022.

It is with extreme sadness that we must tell you, after an extended illness, Carol Jan Mounts Jobe passed away on December 3, 2022.

Carol was 83 years old at the time of her passing. Carol had many great accomplishments in her wonderful life on Earth.  (1) She was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ.  She taught many of you in Sunday school, sang in the choir, and prayed for each of you till the very end.  We say with confidence Jesus welcomed her Home.  (2) She wanted to be the best homemaker to her family and friends.  Her home was always open, and full of amazing home-cooked food (fried chicken in particular), for anyone that needed a place.  (3) She wanted to be the best wife she could.  I can attest, after almost 60 years of marriage to me, she fulfilled that goal. Her patience and love for our marriage was an example to our children and others.  (4) She loved her children with her whole heart, and she wanted to be the best Mother.  Chris, Jeff, and Jill will tell you that she was the best Mom in the entire Universe.  Many of their friends referred to her as their “Mom #2.” (5) Her most favorite accomplishment was to be known as the best Grandmother ever created (“GraGra,” as she was known to her Grands). Valerie, Josiah, Ava, and Rex will tell everyone who will listen that Carol was indeed the #1 GraGra of all time.  Many of their friends even called her GraGra. (6) And as is evident to all the texts, phone calls, and Facebook posts, she was a friend to all and an enemy to none.  I have never heard a single person speak ill of Carol.  She touched so many people throughout many generations.  Her love and memory will remain with us all for years to come.

Carol graduated from Guthrie High School in 1957 and attended Oklahoma State University. Carol and Allan Jobe married on January 18, 1963.  She worked as a school librarian and a secretary at the Job Corp in Gutrhie.

With the love and healing power of God, she battled breast cancer and beat it in 1983.

Carol is survived by her husband, Allan Jobe of New Trenton, Indiana; son Chris Jobe and his wife Lynne of Gloster, Louisiana; son Jeffrey Jobe and his wife Erin; granddaughter Ava and grandson Rex of Mill Creek, Washington; daughter Jill Shawley and her husband Jeff; and, granddaughter Valerie and grandson Josiah of New Trenton, Indiana.  As an honorable mention, her special friend Hansel, (the family Great Dane), who gave her doggie kisses and brought her a toy every morning.

She is preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Francene (Naylor) Mounts of Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Per Carol’s wishes, there will be no service.
