Carl “Jiggs” Andry, age 83, of New Palestine, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023 in Muncie, Indiana.
Born on August 2, 1939, Jiggs was born to Willard and Fondie (Comstock) Andry in Birdseye, Indiana. He graduated from Camden High School and served as an American Veteran with the United States Navy. Jiggs married Marcia Chapman on November 21, 1959 in Logansport, Indiana. He retired a millwright after 32 years with the Ford Motor Company on English Avenue in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jiggs was Past Master of the Masonic Lodge New Palestine Chapter #404.
Jiggs is survived by his bride, Marcia Andry, his two children Carl (Linda) Andry and Pamela (Greg) Baker-Julian, four grandchildren Josh (Jordyn) Baker, Megan (Cole) Heady, Brian (Jessie) Murphy, and Maria (Jacob) Suter, his great-grandchildren Canaan, Ezra, Lainey, and Ivy Murphy and Jaxon, Jameson, and Adaline Baker.
Preceded in death by his parents Willard and Fondie Andry, siblings Mabel Henderson, Catherine “Kitty” DeWitt, Elva “Buddy” Andry, Jim Andry, Herb Andry, and Grover “Spears” Andry as well as unborn grandchildren and great-grandchildren who reside with the Lord.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services held at 12:00 p.m. all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. Military honors will follow by the Harrison Honor Guard and the United States Navy. Burial will be at Gibson Cemetery in Bright, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in memory of Carl “Jiggs” Andry to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
