Betty J. DeWeese, age 96, of Cincinnati, Ohio, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, October 1, 2023, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Born the daughter of Walter and Sylvia (Mobarry) Marksberry on Wednesday, February 2, 1927, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she became a 1945 graduate of Western Hills High School.
Betty is survived by her children Janice Jessup, Matthew Jessup, and Brian Jessup, her grandchildren, Kimberly (Anthony) Davis, Tracy (Jason) Hauer, Virginia (Shawn) Combs, Emily (Steven Kerr) Gutfreund, Carolyn (Matthew Hicks) Jessup, Lance Jessup, Lucas Jessup, and Neil Jessup. She is also survived by her 10 great-grandchildren, Anna, Ella, Nathaniel, Evie, Ian, Ava, Iyla, Ethan, Wyatt, and Josie.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Jessup, Chester Vickroy, and Floyd L. DeWeese, her son Lance Jessup, and her siblings Richard Marksberry, Jack Marksberry, Sylvia Ryan, and Annabelle Kroeger.
Betty enjoyed sharing her life with family and friends. Her passion for celebrating holidays has created many beautiful memories for her family, and she loved participating in the lives of her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12:00 P.M., with Pastor Shawn Crisman officiating, all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. Burial will follow at Gibson Cemetery in Bright, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Betty’s memory to Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash in care of the funeral home or directed to P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, Ohio 45263-3597.
