Bernice Byrd

Bernice Byrd, age 85 of Harrison, OH went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2014. Born September 21, 1929 in Manchester, KY she was the daughter of the late Walter & Mae (Webb) Hensley. She worked at the Kopps Turkey Farm in Harrison and was a member of the West Harrison Pentecostal Church in W. Harrison, IN. She loved her family and her church. Bernice is survived by her children Judy (Jim) Brickner of Bright, IN, Brenda (Elvis) Patrick of Lawrenceburg, IN, Carol (Late Joe) McDaniel of W. Harrison, IN, Peggy (Daryl) Morgan of W. Harrison, IN, Ralph Byrd Jr. of Brookville, IN, Darlene Byrd of W. Harrison, IN, Charlene (Roger) Quinlin of Brookville, IN and the late Jeff (Billie) Byrd of Harrison, OH. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren Britney, Robin, Crystal, Tyler, Melissa, Joey, Josh, Scotty, Daniel, Aiden, Cherith, Miranda, Terry, Sam, Jesse, Hannah, Callie, Rowan, Ethan, Bub, Gracee, Daryll, Chris, Kylee, Daxton, Sierra, Amanda, Ralph, Bailey, Dalton, Riley, Dana, Danny, Cameron, Avery, Aryanna, Caleb, Beth, Tonya, Sarah, McKenzie, Michael, McKayla, Brayden, Alexis, Alyssa, Jordyn and the late Billy & Destiny; and siblings Nora Thompson of Harrison, OH, Emily Bauchman of California, Carol (Ralph) Gilbert of Union, KY, Vernon (Pam) Hensley and many nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents and son Jeff Byrd she was preceded by her siblings Oscar Hensley, Gilbert Hensley, McKenley Hensley, Otha Richmond and Walter Hensley Jr. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 5-8pm at the West Harrison Pentecostal Church. Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 10:00am at the church with Rev. Wade Hicks & Rev. Hobert Bowling officiating. Burial will follow services at Gibson Cemetery, Bright, IN. Memorials are suggested to the West Harrison Pentecostal Church c/o Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home.
