Asenath Ann Smith

Asenath Ann Smith, age 66 passed away Wednesday February 4, 2015 at her home in Harrison, OH. Born March 20, 1948 in Hamilton, OH she is the daughter of Jerry & Anna Lee (Gerngross) Smith of Harrison. Asenath graduated in 1966 from William Henry Harrison High School and received her Master's in Education from Miami University. She began her teaching career at Brookville Elementary where she taught Special Education and retired from Cincinnati Public Schools in 2009. She was a member of North Bend United Methodist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star serving as Past Matron of the Marvin Chapter #376. Asenath taught for over 30 years and had a genuine love for her students. She valued education and being a lifelong learner. She enjoyed reading, shopping, playing games, and traveling. Throughout her life she had many different pets which gave her great memories but most of all she sincerely loved her family. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a very close cousin, Gloria (David) Record of Batesville, IN and several cousins. Visitation will be Monday, February 9, 2015 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm with Eastern Star services at 7:45pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH. Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 1:00pm with Rev. Dr. Harold Shackelford officiating at the funeral home. Burial will follow services in Glen Haven Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Assoc. c/o the funeral home.
