Albert R. Schlemmer

Albert R. Schlemmer Sr., age 89 of Harrison, OH passed away Friday, December 16, 2011 at Mercy Mt. Airy in Cincinnati, OH. Born April 14, 1922 in Harrison, OH he was the son of John & Ethel (Rockefeller) Schlemmer. Mr. Schlemmer married Betty Louise Mabis on October 21, 1944 in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was the Office Manager for Schlemmer Feed Mill & Habegger Corp. He served in the US Marine Corp during WWII and fought in the Battle of Guadalcanal. He was a Scout Master for cub scouts, founding member of the Harrison Twp. Water Corp, member of Harrison Kiwanis, Harrison Historical Society, 65 year member of the American Legion Post 199 and member of the VFW Duwell Post 7570, a Kentucky Colonel and 2nd Battalion 1st Marines. He loved baseball & fishing. Albert is survived by his children JoEllen (Sean) McCarthy of Cincinnati, OH, Albert (Debbie) Schlemmer Jr. of Harrison, OH, Richard A (Linda) Schlemmer of Miami Heights, OH, and Terri Thrasher of Cincinnati, OH. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Lisa (John) Taylor, Sarah (Jeff) Schrage, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Schlemmer, Kristen (Kevin) Wilson, Kyle Schlemmer, Andrea Thrasher & Rachel (Omar) Mercado and great grandchildren Jacob & Colton Cooper, Kaleb Mercado, Logan Wilson, Jace Schlemmer & Nathan Taylor and former son-in-laws Charles Thrasher of Harrison, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Louise Schlemmer, daughters Jackie Schlemmer & Michelle (Robert & Maureen) Metz. In addition to his parents and daughters, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Louise (Mabis) Schlemmer and siblings Mary, Bertha, Carl, John, Paul & Edgar. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 11am until time of service at 1pm all at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Rev. Dr. Harold Shackelford officiating.
